VortexXtra is a custom Paper plugin for TheVortex - a public Minecraft server and passion

project maintained by Devan Mysterio since 2015 (formerly known as DoctorDisco).

VortexXtra aims to make TheVortex feel like a modpack - adding hundreds of new items, machines,

minions, and crafting systems entirely through a server-side plugin, with no mods required.

What is VortexXtra?

VortexXtra adds a massive layer of content on top of vanilla Minecraft survival - custom crafted items,

electric machines, automated minions, ritual magic, cargo transport systems, tiered backpacks, and much more.

Some highlights include:

Backpacks - Tiered portable storage, including an Ender-linked variant
Electric Machines - Generators, processors, reactors, and more
Automated Minions - 11 types of workers that mine, smelt, drill, refine, and produce
Cargo Networks - Automated item transport systems between machines
GPS & Portal Systems - Satellite teleporters and wormhole Portal Guns
Armor Sets - Satanic, Ender, Hazmat, Novelty, and Elite armor
Ritual Crafting - Ground-based casting by throwing items into a summoning circle
Weapons & Gadgets - Explosive bows, grappling hooks, jetpacks, staffs, and more
Enchantment Runes - Apply custom enchantments outside the enchanting table
Recipe Guide - An in-game guide to browse and unlock crafting recipes

In Q4 2025, the Slimefun project was discontinued. Rather than abandon the style of gameplay

that made TheVortex unique, Devan rebuilt the entire experience from scratch - solo - in 130 days.

VortexXtra is not a fork or a port. It is a ground-up reimagination, custom-built specifically for TheVortex.

TheVortex started in early 2015 as a small community server called TheVortex, founded by

Devan Mysterio as a personal passion project. Plugin development began in 2016, and by 2020

the server was rebranded to TheVortex.

When Slimefun was discontinued in Q4 2025, Devan built VortexXtra from scratch over 130 days:

a custom crafting altar, ritual system, 11 minion types, 20+ electric machines, a cargo network,

GPS teleportation, and hundreds of unique items. VortexXtra is not a public release - it lives exclusively

on TheVortex.
