Sign Shops

Set up your own automated shop on a barrel, buying or selling a single item, even while you're offline.

Creating a Shop

Sign shops are built on a Barrel specifically, chests won't work here (that's what SellAll Signs are for).

1. Place a wall sign directly on a barrel.
2. Write the following on the sign:

- Line 1: [Buy] or [Sell]

- Line 2: your price

- Line 3: the quantity per trade

1. The sign rewrites itself and asks you to finish setup.
2. Hold the item you want to trade and right-click the sign to lock it in.

That's it, no cost to set one up. The sign will now show live stock (for Buy shops) or your available funds (for Sell shops).

A shop is either Buy or Sell, never both. If you want to offer a two-way trade on the same item, you'll need two separate barrels and signs.

How Trading Works

Anyone can click your shop sign to open a quick trade confirmation window, showing the price, quantity, and their balance. Confirming completes the trade instantly.

• Buy shops: buyers purchase directly from what's stocked in your barrel. If you're out of stock, they'll be told so.
• Sell shops: sellers deposit into your barrel and get paid from your own balance. If you don't have enough funds to cover it, the trade won't go through.

You don't need to be online for your shop to work, trades happen against your barrel's contents and your balance regardless.

Managing Your Shop

• Restocking: shift-right-click your barrel to open it and manage its contents.
• Removing it: shift-break the sign. You'll need to do this before you can break the barrel itself.
• There's no in-game way to change the price or quantity after setup, if you need to adjust it, break the shop and set up a new one.

A Heads Up

If your shop sits up and active for 5 minutes, it gets automatically logged to a staff Discord channel with your name, the item, and price, this is just for record-keeping and transparency (see the VortexKord page for details). Take a shop down before the 5-minute mark and it's never logged at all.
