Frequently asked questions about VortexXtra and TheVortex.
I have an error/bug with VortexXtra
Head over to the #tickets channel in the TheVortex Discord and open a ticket.
You don't need to worry about plugin versions - just tell us:
- Did anything show up in your chat when it happened?
- If not, describe what you were doing and what went wrong as clearly as you can.
That's it. Someone will help you out.
What's the difference between a Talisman and an Ender Talisman?
Ender Talismans work whether they're in your inventory or stored inside an Ender Chest.
Regular Talismans only work if they're in your inventory - Ender Chest storage won't activate them.
Can you stack Talismans?
Talismans are stackable items but having more than one of the same type will not increase their effects - you won't get double the luck by carrying two.
However, some Talismans are consumed on use, so having extras means they'll last you longer.
What can I do with Stone or Flint?
Feed either into a Compressor Minion to turn it into Cobblestone - 3 Stone or 8 Flint will get you 1 Cobblestone.
How do I disable items or machines per-world?
For the most part, you can't. VortexXtra doesn't have a general per-world toggle for disabling individual items or machines.
The one exception is Portal Guns, which staff can restrict per-world through /portalrestrictions. Anything else that needs restricting, talk to Devan.
How does XYZ work?
Check the wiki. That's literally what it's here for.
If a page doesn't exist yet, either be patient or ask in Discord and Devan will probably explain it and then eventually get around to documenting it. Probably.
How do I repair VortexXtra items?
Use an Auto Anvil - feed it your damaged item and connect it to your energy network. It repairs items automatically using power, no extra materials needed, just supply the electricity.
Duct Tape is a separate item entirely - it's used to repair a damaged vanilla anvil block, not your gear.
Can I enchant VortexXtra items?
Yes - regular vanilla enchanting tables work fine on VortexXtra items.
If you'd rather automate it, the Auto Enchanter will handle enchanting for you using power from your energy network instead.
How long does coolant last in reactors?
One coolant cell is consumed every 10 seconds of active reactor operation, regardless of coolant type.
Here is a full breakdown of fuel durations and how much coolant each one requires:
Nuclear Reactor (uses Reactor Coolant Cells - 500 J/s output)
| Fuel | Duration | Coolant Required | Byproduct |
| Plutonium | 5 min (300s) | 30 cells | None |
| Neptunium | 10 min (600s) | 60 cells | Plutonium |
| Uranium | 20 min (1200s) | 120 cells | None |
| Boosted Uranium | 25 min (1500s) | 150 cells | Neptunium |
Nether Star Reactor (uses Nether Ice Coolant Cells - 1024 J/s output)
| Fuel | Duration | Coolant Required | Byproduct |
| Nether Star | 30 min (1800s) | 180 cells | None |
Note: Reactors in Generator Mode will pause when the energy network is full, consuming no fuel or coolant while idle. Switch to Production Mode if you want continuous operation for byproduct generation.
Is it VortexXtra or Flash Fun?
It's VortexXtra, no space. One word. Always has been.
Devan will notice and he will be silently disappointed.
